I had a classic moment with one of my classes. we were discussing lab books and I was expressing my exasperation about people just pasting data into their books (like IR spectra) and not analysing it so I said 'if you stick it in, you have to do something with it'. Several of the males in the class went scarlet! I followed it up quickly by saying 'well you're not likely to forget that now, are you?'.
